ACEO's Born on eBay Years Ago and Still Going Strong!

ACEO's (Artist Cards Editions & Originals) was born on eBay over 15 years ago.  Today thousands of the little paintings (3 1/2 X 2 1/2 inches) are listed and sold there every day.  I choose to go back to eBay for Halloween and Christmas ACEO's and they are being well received.

You can find my little painting on ebay at:
ms*patricia Seller Page

I also list some of these on Daily Paintworks so you can bid on them from there as well.

ACEO's - a great way to see an artist's talent up close and not spend a whole lot of money.  Start a collection of ACEO's today.  Give them as holiday gifts.  Slip them into holiday cards.  I'm sure they will be well appreciated.

Global Warming is Killing Off the Little Pikas

I fell in love with this tiny animal.  About 7 or 8 inches long, looking like a very cute fat rat with no tail.  They live in colder climates which is why they have a thick fur coat.  They eat wildflowers or whatever else they can find and now there are less and less of them due to global warming.  This is one of the things we may no longer see in the future because we are not taking care of Mother Earth.  Those profiting from dirtying the air and water...where will they live after this planet becomes unlivable?

I have this  6 X 6 inch acrylic painting on canvas panel up on Dailypaintworks.  Sales on the site have gone down to nothing and I may soon have to leave.  Please go and take a peek at Pika and other paintings of mine.  They make good holiday gifts.

The Gliding Swans

Nothing relieves stress as watching a couple of swans gliding along on a pond.  That's what I was thinking as I snapped photos of a huge white swan swimming along just like that.  He glided out and then he turned and stared at me....within a second he was swimming right toward me.  I just kept snapping photos right up to the moment when he got out of the water....and with honking noises that weren't at all pretty came rushing right at me.  I turned, ran and got in my car.  What a beauty out on the water, but downright nasty on land!

This 4 X 12 inch acrylic on premium stretched canvas is up on daily paintworks now.  Why not grab yourself a piece of stress relief that will also look great on your wall.

Yet Another Happy Customer - and Friend

Georgellen bought several paintings from me.  This latest one....The Pumpkin Truck is an 8 X 6 inch acrylic on 140 lb watercolor paper.  It was all of $20.00.

and here is the picture she sent me after it was framed.  I think it looks great and she loves the painting too.  (she said the mat is actually lavender but didn't photograph well)

I love to make my customers happy....but I'm even happier when the customer is also a friend!

Janice is both a customer and friend. She purchased two paintings from my Daily Paintworks gallery not long ago.  She couldn't wait to get them and have them framed so they could hang in her home.  Here are the paintings:

Both were only 15.00 and size 5 X 7 inch watercolors.  I got an email of her paintings after they were framed:

She hasn't decided where she wants to hang them but she bought two original watercolors from me for less than the price of a print and now that they're framed, they look great!

A Word to Collectors of Original Art and Those New to Original Art

I know there are many of you who hesitate to buy directly from artists but the ones I've dealt with on Daily Paintworks are a good bunch.  They, myself included, depend on sales to keep us going.  I know in my case, my prices are ridiculously small.  That's because I love to paint and, at my age, I have no goals to reach.  I'm retired, in my 70's and just look to make some extra money to supplement my retirement.  Support art...without it, our world would be a crude, rude place.

You have no idea how good and how different original art looks in your home.  I've countless emails from satisfied customers who were unaware they could get good original art for less then the price of a print.  Please take a stroll through my Daily Paintworks gallery and see for yourself.

Recently, I spent the day at a local arts festival.  People looked through my work and said "got any roosters?"  No, didn't have a one...so I set out to rectify the situation.  My latest work is a large (for me) 11 X 14 canvas panel entitled "The Boss". :-)

Perfect for a country kitchen or dining area.  You can check out the Daily Paintworks auction for this original, one of a kind piece:

Good News on Daily Paintworks

Now artists can list items for sale on special item pages and announce events on certain event pages.  Where can you find it?   See below:

In the band directly under my name you will see Gallery of Art plus two new links "Nesting Dolls and Nesting Dolls 2".  Click on those and you will see two sets of "Decidely Different Nesting Dolls"  both are new and hand made and one of a kind.  Take a peek....suggestions welcome, and if you do buy, Daily Paintworks will handle the transaction just as they do with paintings.

Toys? Just Because

I firmly believe that an artist can paint almost anything and continually challenge myself to do just that.  This one is called Watchful Toys.  It seems when stuffed toys that you simply took off the floor and put on a couch or chair seem to be watching whatever is going on.

Why?

Many people have asked me why my paintings are so reasonable. They are sure I put more work into them then I am charging for. Well, when I do a special painting like Night and Day or Toward the Light, yes, I charge what I feel they're worth. Most of my paintings now are small. I can paint them fast and I can enjoy painting them. I want them to sell and I want them to sell fast so I can paint some more. Truth is by the time I pass on (I'm 74 years old) I want thousands of my paintings out there for people to enjoy I have already sold over 3,000 on Ebay from 1998 to present.  Perhaps, for a second they will remember me. I have had people contact me to ask if I painted this or that...one from the 1970's was left a painting by a relative.  Yes, it was mine and I remembered it well and even remembered the person who bought it from me at an art show in New Jersey.

My goal is not to be famous...that happens about as often as a singer or performer becomes world famous...which is not often at all. Out of the thousands upon thousands of artists in the world, only a few become famous and command high prices. Long ago, I gave up that dream and instead simply enjoy my painting and my paintings. If, sometime after I'm gone these paintings happen to become famous well, then that's a treat for the buyer. Like most elderly people, I'm happy with what I have.

I hope you enjoy my paintings and will visit my gallery on Daily Paintworks.

A Painting Dedicated to My Favorite Hobby....Tatting

Tatting is not the making of tattoos as some folks have asked me. It is a very very old craft of making lace with a shuttle. This painting shows a bit of lace, a red shuttle with thread and my favorite embroidery scissors. If you have always wanted to know about tatting, go to my website: Tatting Just for You where you will find free instructions. A good little video showing the making of the illusive double stitch and many free patterns. If you want more, my tatting books full of original easy patterns are available for sale.

The Holiday Season is Upon Us!

I haven't been out and in the crowds yet so I'm not exactly feeling the spirit yet. I tell everyone when I get off the couch, go out to the garage and get the wreaths for the front door and the back gate then the season will have begun in this house :-)

I hope the stores are doing well because big sales at holiday time helps our economy...no matter how we feel about the season this is a good thing.

My latest happens to be a holiday scene. Hope it warms your heart and makes you smile:

Whether we Like it or Not!

The holidays are coming.....don't know what to buy anyone?  Why not help out us artists and buy original art for holiday gifts?  Here's a sample of something fresh off my painting board:

So many people love candy....why not this 8 X 6" to brighten up a corner of their home or office?  Its different....not the same old tie or shirt.  I bet it would be appreciated.

Mouse With a Tootsie Roll

Here's a mouse you don't have to be afraid of. He found a Tootsie Roll in the grass and he holds it possessively.  He tells the other mice "this is mine...I found it!  He is today's daily painting.  Only 4 X 4 inches on stretched canvas with 3/4 inch sides painted black.  He's ready to hang.
